Aniplex Online Fest 2023 dropped a bunch of new content for the upcoming Heat the Pig Liver anime, including the second promotional video!
- The OP is 「私が笑う理由は」 (The Reason I Smile is) sung by ASCA
- The ED is 「ひとりじゃないよ」 (I'm not Alone) sung by Myuk
- Brace's VA will be 能登麻美子 (Noto Mamiko)
- Episode 1 will air on October 7
One thing I had been worried about which this PV addressed is that I wasn't sure whether they would keep Jess' outfit change that she wore only in volume 1, especially given how they simplified a lot of the characters' outfit textures (Celes was especially noticeable given that her dress no longer had any patterns on it and was just plain brown), but there were a couple frames like at 1:05 which showed it off, so I'm glad that wasn't changed.

They also released one more key visual after airing the second PV (the two subtitle lines have been translated below).

And that's about it. I'll append this post with edits if additional information is released over the next few days, but I don't expect there'll be many more new blog posts like this as the anime air date is less than a month away (probably just one for the final trivia?). However, I'm considering writing about my thoughts on each episode as I feel that some people might be interested in how the anime differs from the source (besides the art downgrade, which was to be expected).

These two videos have been privatized on Aniplex's channel.Looks like ASCA and Myuk will be making guest appearances on Aniplex Presents Anime Concierge on 9/12 and 9/19 respectively to talk about their respective theme songs for Heat the Pig Liver. Based on the voice clips that were played, it sounds like the scene from Pig Prince SS will be included (much like what the manga did). I wonder if the other limited short story scenes will also be added?
...Come to think of it, Jess' character visual quote also included a line from the SS. It was "I will give Mister Pig a spanking!" I should've realized this when I read it, or at the very least while translating the ABEMA news, but I guess my brain didn't process the information at the time.

But even more importantly, Dengeki Bunko announced some new anime promotional voice recordings that will come bundled with any purchase of Heat the Pig Liver's novels and/or manga at select stores (this is separate from the multiple new short stories that will be released alongside vol 8 of the novel, and vol 5 of the manga). They'll be accessed via the QR code behind each of the bookmarks shown below.
They also released two sample recordings... with one of them even being an entirely separate scenario that isn't among the 6 listed above.

Lastly, while looking at the preorders for vol 8 of the novel, I came across a preview image for Melonbooks' bonus SS cover. It looks to be showing a color illustration from the upcoming volume, with Jess and Mister Pig reminiscing their past journeys. Ahhhhhh, with the volume's lengthier page count and ominous blurb, I really don't want to see the series end yet, but it sure seems to be heading that way. Guess we'll find out when it releases just 2 weeks from now.
